this.
The health you've been taking for granted is going to slowly start fading. Best bet is to be proactive towards your health now rather than later. Everything is inevitable, your best bet is to slow it all down. The you at 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, and 90 is being formed right now. Those innocuous shitty habits now that didn't slow you down in your teens and early twenties can cause large problems when you're older.
Get in the gym and make it a habit.
Try to avoid junk and sodas, and make sure you get your body in the habit of 3 regular meals to help it naturally regulate insulin.
Get a career and network your ass off. Get started with work now while gaps on a resume can be explained. Some may argue that 30 is the new 20 and people are starting their lives later. But there's a difference between having a life at 30 and starting a life at 30, and the same thing applies to 40. It's never too late, but later is definitely not better.
Cultivate relationships, do your best to speak to new people, invite them to places with you, and when you go places try to meet new people. Momentum is a real thing, and it becomes easier to meet new people the more new people you've met. So every person you approach and talk to will be easier than the last one. These connections will be the same people who refer you to their uncle in HR for a job, or lend you tools you need when your car won't start, or get you a free sandwich at their restaurant. These might seem trivial, but you really never know how different your life could be in a few years.
The capability to plan for the future can only be enjoyed by an individual capable of enjoying the present. As one day that individual will have to be able to enjoy the present he has worked for. But on the flip side, if you are living in the present, but incapable of planning and working for the future, that future will come, and it will suck, because you will be fully present for it.
