I'd would have liked to see something more accurate to Catholic theology, especially since he did so much research in other aspects of medieval life. But it's nothing to get rustled about.
I was more offended my Maria's crude comments about Joan of Arc (medieval virginity tests were less invasive then she said), even though it was meant to show that Maria sympathized with and admired Joan. I know Maria is supposed to be isolated and ill-informed on a lot of things, but I thought it was unnecessary.
Historically, the Church has never been free from corruption (Christ warned us as much), and hopefully the Dominican friars that the show has as side characters will be shown to be more sympathetic.
