Here's a film I've been working on lately:

Also, post your videos and films here

Who am I to deny your love??
Nothing sublime or poetic felt. Pretty standard "check out the darknesss underneath it all."
I think revealing hidden darkness is great, and this isn't a terrible first step, but I get nothing substantial or new from it.
You should try banning yourself from syncing up images with the rhythm of music. It's an easy way to get an easy feeling of kinetic intensity, which is very appealing when your work lacks greater sublime feelings, which take time, care, inspiration, intuition and meditation to get right. Very difficulty.
But I'd rather watch this than a Superbowl commercial.
I suggest you get into Vito Acconci and Paul McCarthy's video art. Read some long, dry essays on them.

>>1202Thanks for the critique! Valid points.
First off, about the poetic value. I wanted the sequence to feel merciless and brutal. A poetic value might go against that point. But at the same time, I don't want the film to be only about senseless violence. That adds nothing new, it's like shining a light at something without doing anything about it. So I'll definitely keep your points in mind when I continue with this film (I plan to make a longer film with more scenes). And I've seen some of Mccarthys videos but I'll read up on Vito. Again, thanks for taking the time

bumping with Chris Cunningham's (sorta) unreleased short film
(it has been like this for almost a decade, seriously)
