Is it shit? The proportions are intentionally elongated because the character is 7ft and she's an albino as a side effect of her genetic engineering. Also I didn't want to shade because pencil shading ends up getting smudged.

 No.1765

They're still a bit off. A great reference for you would be the manga Tetsugaku Letra - there's a character who's tall and thin, and should really help you map proportions.

It's not just proportions, they have to develop a sense of dimension and volume.

Drawing shapes with perspective grids is a good exercise. Or draw something on an orange with a sharpie, then draw the orange. This can help you develop an intuition for how construction lines and details wrap around curved forms. Try it on other objects too.

Grind the fundies and build up a skill set before you go balls deep trying to draw animu.

Show me a drawing with correct proportions, then I'll listen to your "genetic engineering" excuses.

>side nose in front view

>1/1 front view
>long silhouette hair
>random "wrinkles" on the clothing with very little logic to them
>"avoiding expressions because I don't understand how to draw them" face
not even going to start on the anatomy.

Looks like a typical "I want to draw anime but not learn how to draw it" piece.

Learn to see and draw things in 3 dimensions. Pic related is 2D art just like yours, but it would be almost impossible to do from imagination if you weren't able to think of the character and shapes in 3D.

You elongated the hands right off the page? How convenient! =P

Seriously though, it looks like you're a super beginner. Which is lame, but also great, because there are tons of books and whatnot made for people who are just starting.

The meme here is Loomis and while long term that's questionable, his first book, Fun with a Pencil, is a great starting point to get you thinking in 3d and all that.

>genetic engineering
I also started drawing in a 'manga style'.
I also used to make those excuses.
Regardless, trying to emulate japanese comics as a beginner has forever scarred me. All practice I do is to unlearn what I tried to do then.

>scratchy lines
>bubble breasts
>chin is an unregistered deadly weapon
>smudging as an excuse not to shade
Put a piece of paper underneath your hand while you draw, it will prevent smudging.

I recommend that you learn to draw real people before you start with manga characters. If you can draw the real thing then the drawing the simplified/symbolic manga version will come easier.

In addition to drawing from real life, you'll learn what proportions can be altered and what effects they have on a figure.

OP here. Thanks. I'm killing myself tonight. Check various news sites in Everett, Washington if you want proof.

Take a drawing class.

Stop doing anime, stop being a bitch. This is the real world son and the people out there aren't going to tolerate your doods.

I'm sorry. I was really close to doing it but I didn't. But don't worry, I'm giving up on drawing forever, that's for sure.

How about no. You don't need to pay some jackass to figure out when what you drew doesn't look how you wanted it to.

Clearly OP is set on giving up already with all of these internet resources avaliable, that kind of attitude would benefit from the the direction of a teacher.

I'm wondering if those replies were actually OP. If not, I would still wonder if OP themselves are just here to troll.

Online resources are great if you're just looking for answers. A teacher helps you find the questions.

take drawing classes will help to get 3 possible results:

a)reafirm your interest in drawing
b)make you think that you are really fucked for drawing
c) both previous subsections
