I have a question /art/, are Crayola colour pencils good enough to keep or should I throw them out and get fiber castells or something and if so, what colours should I get?
I have a bunch of crayola colour pencils left over from all the years and I kind of want to practice colouring in my sketchbook.

Crayola colored pencils are pretty decent, but if you want something a little more high quality, I'd bump up to Prismacolor. Faber Castell Polychromos are expensive as hell, so I'd only get them if you were serious about the medium. They blend like butter though.
Prismacolors are pretty nice pencils. Derwents a good brand too. Personally I enjoy the coloursoft ones. As the name implies, they're very, very soft.
But yeah, back onto Crayola. They're decent, especially if you're starting off. If you wanna see what they can do I recommend looking up videos and tutorials on them on youtube.

Don't throw the crayola away. It's not the tools that make the person, it's the ability and skill to use those tools that makes the person.

>>2199Funnily enough my favourite pencils, col-erase is really difficult to acquire in Australia, especially when the exchange rate is against imports.

Buy a few pencils from different brands (I assume they are sold separately as well as in packs?) and try them out. It's easy to get fooled by different price tags and brands and reputations, so decide for yourself which ones you like the most.
