 No.64

Here we discuss the pros and cons of various types of pastels eg: oil, soft, hard, chalk

 No.67

Pros:
>They have amazing texture
>Blend colors with a piece of paper towel flawlessly
>Different line weights for different angles of the pastel

Cons:
>DUST
>The chance of this shit getting on your palms and fucking up with palm prints of different colors on your canvas
>Sealant spray is a a guy with respiratory problems worst nightmare.

Hate pastels, and it's defiantly not my medium of choice.

Oil pastels don't have a problem with dust but they have the problem of smearing and they're susceptible to hot temperatures

Plus they aren't ideal for detail work, so you have to work kind've medium to large. Plus, because of their oily nature, they can be surprisingly messy and can be fragile for awhile after completion due to requiring time to dry.
