 No.1774

What is some acceptable military apparel? I heard some of the jackets were nice.

 No.1775

I got my grandpa's Vietnam era jacket.

It's olive, not camo, and a few patches.

I think that's as far as one should go when it comes to military attire. Something with sentimental value.

Camo's cool and all, if you know how to use it. But most people don't and end up looking terrible.

But yeah. Jackets are what I'd shoot for. (no pun intended)

M-65 jackets are dope as fuck, inherited pic related from my old man. Get compliments on it on the daily.

OG milsurp is durable as hell and cheap as dirt, plus the liners and hoods and the like are easy to find.

Alpha industries has their own M-65, cop at the risk of being out a few hundo if you don't like the jacket.

Anything besides jackets is just tryhard tho and you'll probably catch shit from actual vets or you'll look like someone who goes airsofting way too much.

I prefer bombers/blousons. I find field jackets to be too boxy and kinda homeless-looking

I would include aviator jackets if you can pull them off, they loom nice in fall specially.

Personally, I like old-school blousons and shell jackets jackets. It helps that I'm too short to pull of anything longer.

I'm actually having a modernized Ike-style jacket made right now and am waiting for it to be finished. Maybe some day I'll try the same thing with a Panzer wrap like pic related.

Hopefully I can realize my goal of looking like a homeless veteran from the '40s.

That almost looks fedora-tier. It better turn out well.

Ike jackets or panzer wraps?

I think the basic look of either one could look nice (i.e., in a slim fit and minus certain unnecessary detailing), but panzer wraps are a little more out there due to the asymmetrical design.

The one I'm waiting for now looked pretty good in the sketch (almost like a denim jacket cut but in wool), but I'm still waiting to see how it'll actually turn out.

If it looks like that then it sure is a great cop.

That's pretty much how I expect it to look in terms of design, with a few exceptions (buttons clearly visible when fastened, straight-cut pocket flaps, and no epaulettes).

As much I like the basic idea behind the original Eisenhower jackets, they looked kind of frumpy-looking and bloated like the fit in pic related.

Perhaps if he had opened the bottom it would have looked better, because that fit there screams autism to me.

He looks like he's drowning in fabric like he put on his dad's jacket or something.
