Nah, but wearing an actual suit when it's not required by dresscode/ nature of occasion makes you look like a bit of a tryhard. Something about matching jacket and trousers screams "formal!".
A blazer + shirt + well fitting trousers (black jeans/khakis/something like that) would be a better choice IMO. Smart without looking out of place.
