The point of having a zipper is that it makes getting the shoe on and off really fast and easy. Having to deal with the laces every time is more cumbersome.

Having laces in addition to the zipper can also allow the wearer to adjust the laces for a better fit.

Branding on them isn't too bad imo. Tongue gets covered by laces and the heel isn't too obnoxious. The bigger issue to me is the shit leather, but that's the same with most sneakers in that price range.
