On /fa/, someone made a thread called "fashionable niggers". It was to be a thread dedicated to pictures of fashionable black guys. It had about 70 responses, mostly good.
Then the thread got deleted. I don't know why, but there's only one reason that makes any sense:
because the OP post called black people "niggers".
Like many other people, I don't like the word nigger and I generally don't like people who use it. But the thread was not offensive. And even if it was, it was 4chan. 4chan was supposed to be the place where anything could be said.
after that I started talking with a friend of mine who follows gamergate more closely, and he told me that there have been suspicions about a new moderating team that moot brought in to replace the old guard. It all sounded very conspiracy theoryish, but I'd just seen a thread deleted over an offensive word, so I was tempted to believe it.

8chan offers an opportunity to start a fresh, new culture on a /fa/ board.
Currently halfchan is infested with portions of elitism, portions of shitposting, and portions of people genuinely interested in leveling up their game from pleb status. That isn't to say 8chan isn't destined to the same fate, but there is at least an opportunity here to make something good.
/fa0/ is a prime example of elitist fashion culture and certainly there's a place for those standards, but it would be great if that stayed over there. This whole "you need to be wearing at least four digits worth of monies in your clothes" to be considered effay is retarded.
This isn't to say /fa/ should become a reddit-tier hugbox. It should never become that. I think WAYWT threads are the perfect example of shitty board culture. Perhaps there should be two different threads for the problem I have with WAYWTs and the responses found in them. WAYWT for people putting on a costume or just genuinely feel like posting whatever shit they have on and a Fit Check thread for people looking for feedback more constructive than "boring, basic, pleb, etc."
Yes people get that a t-shirt, jeans, and whatever shoes is boring and basic. But even with the most basic fits people can still be looking for advice on whether or not they should be slimming down on their denims or if their shirts are a size too big.
