Welcome to /la/

As always, general rules apply. Other than that: just use common sense, I guess. Please spoiler NSFW images.

I have never actually won a single one of these threads. Everytime I see that comically anthropomorphized banana holding his peel in a suggestive manner, likening the peel to clothes and his peel-less nature to human nudity, I bust up laughing. This happens every time, no matter where I am, be it the house or the bus or in class. Sometimes I laugh just thinking about it. This is a dark memory but a few months back I had just gotten done with a fit of laughter caused by one of these hilarious threads. Suddenly my mom walks in and she's crying. I attempted to suppress the growing urge to laugh but it was getting more difficult. Face red, tears running down her aging face, mom grabs my shoulders and says "Your father's dead."

It was at that moment that I couldn't hold back anymore. I burst into a banana-induced fit of laughter, but the horrible news drew tears to my eyes. I laughed while I cried, tears streaming down my wide open grin, memories of daddy resurfacing and being melded and combined with the naked banana.

I losdt two things that night.

SoCal resident here. What are some of your favorite places to visit in LA?

I know it's pretty cliche, but I really like visiting Venice Beach when I can. The pot culture aside, it's a pretty unique place with tons of interesting people once you get past the burnouts and hipsters.

Also, it's not directly LA related but the ecology in SoCal is very unique too. I do a lot of hiking north of LA and there is such an amazing level of organism diversity. You can go to on one hike and find deer, lichen, wildflowers, hundreds of types of cacti, and countless small animals. Pic related, a Yucca whipplei which I photographed just north of LA. This plant takes 5+ years to grow and bloom, and it's uniquely native to the area around SoCal!

Downtown. Love the architecture. Lots of sights to see and stuff to do despite being too run-down for the tourists.

Kind of an obscure board topic, but still, I've always wanted to move to LA, but I've heard the people are garbage tier, especially if I wanted to get into any sort of tech environment as a job. Is this true?

I never really understood that stereotype.

You'll find yourself surrounded by shitty people only if you choose to surround yourself with those types.

Although I'm not familiar enough with the tech sector to comment on that aspect of your question, I'd say LA people are generally pretty chill.
