why?
because she saw something about it on dr. phil.
some shit about how dads don't say it enough to their children, and how it's supposed to be important.
so after about 10 years resisting the urge to drag a steak knife across my arms, suddenly mom just announces out of nowhere how proud she is of me. what reason did she have to be proud? the only reason to explain it is that I was responsible for a tidy government bankroll in the form of child support, alimony, and SSDI. yes, she actually got the government to garnish my dad's disability insurance so she could have expensive lunches with her co workers while I sat at home microwaving popcorn for yet another meal, and listening to my stomach growl.
and that's basically what father's day, mother's day, modern gender relations, and men's rights mean to me now. my mom suckered a biker thug into producing offspring (her third of four baby daddies), and when it became apparently that he was actually going to stick around, she forcibly ejected him from our lives with an accusation that "he was cheating" before I was even a year old.
women aren't just seeking bad partners and rewarding them with progeny, they are intentionally ejecting the best partners in favor of a meager government payout.
