It depends on how obsessive. I have had sexual dalliances with mildly obsessive women but I've generally been able to figure out the psychos and stay away from them.

In general avoid dumping a woman, obsessive or not. Always make them dump you if you can. The reason for this is to avoid any potential blow-back in case the woman is not done with the relationship. Not all women do this but it is better to be safe than sorry. Women take far longer to let go than men and they almost always take it very personally(more personally than it should be taken anyway). Remember, Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

The tactics I used ranged from not turning up on promised dates, turning up late, being a jerk around her, until her mind gradually turned against me. You have to have some patience to change a woman's mind to willingly let go but with most women, this can be done within a week.

I haven't dealt with a psycho grade obsessive woman but in general you have to find out what makes you so appealing to the woman that she can't let go and then nerf that. It generally isn't sex. It usually is something that you provide emotionally.

Just add, Sometimes the reason they won't let go is emotional, at other times its jut financial ie money. If its money its difficult, they won't let go until they find another living ATM

This nigga speaks truth. Women don't have nearly as much practice with handling blows to their ego as men (i.e. you). Breaking up with a woman is playing with fire. There's a very good chance that she'll blame you for not having standards/desires that match her and take out her emotions on you. It's like the female version of Elliot Rodger.

I broke up with my gf a month ago in the coward's way out of a letter and an empty house, and so far nothing ill has come of it. This was an abusive relationship (her abusing me) too.

When you dump a woman you run the risk of her exploding like an emotional hand grenade. You want to try to diffuse that bomb if possible. If she's obsessive like you say, she could have the bunny boiler gene.

But minus the soft approach, you're plan to pull the plug quickly is correct and ballsy.

You should change your passwords on all accounts, in case you ever used her computer to login to anything, as she could have had a keylogger installed.

If you share any friends that you'd like to keep afterwards, you might want to talk to them before she gets to them. But be careful that they won't spill the beans, so best to do it just after you make the move.

Be prepared that she'll likely try to force a confrontation at some point and go round for round. If this happens when you're alone, record the interaction on your phone.
