OP in my oppinion this is not very clever. You will get banned from boards or at least piss them off. They might even start raids for revenge.

Especially /pol/ should not be filled with anything mgtow related anymore. This board was created in november because we had a lot of mgtow threads on /pol/ with much drama and many got tired of it.

We don't belong to /pol/ because they see us as degeneracy and there is no point in having arguments with /pol/ because you know, pol is always right and they won't accept "no" as an answer.

I made a thread on /pol/ when I created this board to say we now have our own board and that from now on they should redirect any mgtow discussions to this board but apparently they forgot it.

I would instead focus on posting a link to the board in the youtube comments of some of the MGTOW youtubers providing they don't mind. When people post these MGTOW youtube videos maybe they could post a link in the youtube comments section of that video indicating that the video has been posted here and that if anyone is interested in giving their opinions using the freedom provided by the anonymity of an image board they could use this place

What we need to do is to make sure all lurkers are posting once every 72 hours.

Perhaps a dedicated 'board activity bump thread.'

Or better than that, have two 'bump days' per week where everyone posts one porn image or something else that would encourage quick participation.

Second, we could advertise without pissing people off by having MGTOW sponsored content dumps on other boards, relevant to whatever they're about.

Instead of making a dedicated bump thread, we could make a Nene thread where we share ideas on what would make good nemesis and some of us with the knowhow actually make them. It inspires participation and produces material useful for marketing.

If you want a more accessible bump thread, make a thread on MGTOW movie reviews. There's already a thread asking for MGTOW movies, a movie review thread covers the same ground but opens the dialogue up to all movies and allows the lowliest of lurkers to contribute and pass judgement.

posting the link to our mgtow board on youtube would give us a lot of promotion but I don't have a google/youtube account and therefore I can't post anything there. Imagine sandman attaching our link to one of his videos and mentionning our board. He has more than 20'000 subscribers and about 10'000 views per video. My only concern is that the youtube folks won't know nothing about imageboard culture and fill the postings with their real names and email adresses and then get doxed by radfems.

A bump thread looks cheap. I think we should not manipulate our statistics with such tactics. We also won't need it once we have a large enough userbase with enough creative postings. Currently we have about 40 active users compared to 6 in november, and 20 in December. It's already happening, just give it a few more months.

One way to get more postings would be to focus more on our hobbies instead of "society is broken" threads.
A movie recommendation/review thread (as already suggested) would be a nice start. Every anon can present his favourite movie and write a few things about why he likes the movie. This way we would already have our database with about 20 good movies. If there is enough interest we can also have threads about mgtow-approved video games or music or even outdoor activities.

What I was actually saying in the first paragraph was to make a meme thread where people can come up with meme ideas and also post pics of potential memes for aspiring image macro creators. It inspires activity and also produces potential marketing material. Also, it might be fun.

I have an idea, don't advertise. The only way people will come to MGTOW is if they start to look for answers themselves. Advertising will only alienate people from it.

Its not a movement, there are no leaders.

If anyhlthing its more of a philosophy, and you can't force people to adopt philosophy. Stop worrying about it, the moment is growing. Like a portaband, let the weight of the tool do the work, forcing it might break the blade.

This. I got there by finding the old MGTOW Forums myself in the results of a Google search for a concept I'd been clued into. I had some help in getting there when manosphere types would give their input into existing discussions about gender relations and it would get me thinking, but it wasn't anything like people coming up to me like "would you like to hear about how MGTOW could change your life?? It changed mine!!" When you don't want to hear something and people keep coming up to you with it, you start to avoid them or try to get them to go away by talking smack about them. Besides, if they're not ready to see this stuff and they see it, they can point it out to others and use it to white knight.

I'm the dude that proposed the idea and you are right. This is a serious concern. It is dangerous for newfags who know nothing about a chan to suddenly start posting here without the awareness to keep their personal info personal. It may help this board but in the end it will do more harm than good.

Perhaps someday if all of us could get together and contribute a good primer for newfags, make it into a comprehensive post, add it to one of the existing stickies and make sure to put an additional link to that post every time we post any link to this board. In this case we could mitigate some of the dangers.

So, as of now the youtube idea should be kept in suspended animation. Perhaps some time in the future when we are better prepared for it

Tripfagging and Namefagging is not the only risk though. Its all those "Where's everyone from?", meetup threads and the like. Some of these people just don't understand that chans and real life should never mix. Typically this kind of thing is a problem with teenagers and attention whore men and women but still there is a risk although small with others too.

But like I said if someone could compile a good guide and post it in one of the stickies at least those people willing to read it and heed that advice might not get into trouble

One last thing to board owner, Hotwheels just made /boards/ a stickied board. This is a board where board owners advertise their boards.

Perhaps when you are free, you could post a thread about this board too? Hopefully you will include a brief description of MGTOW in the OP. If you want our help in writing the description, I for one could contribute my ideas.

If I see postings about IRL informations or dox I might delete them and I also enabled the "allow posters to delete their postings" feature. Also for the meetup threads and such, we have country flags, so there might be less interest in this.

Yeah, what's the deal with the mmgtow board? They must have known that another board was already in place because /mgtow/ would have been taken, but why try to start your own board when you both have the wrong name and it's a struggle to get anough of a community going? He's just being silly.
