How many of you here are waifuists?

>>38Obsession over a virtual female is still gynocentrism in that one is trading fixation over pussy for fixation over an imaginary being (and those that sell merchandise bearing her figure).

>>41On the other hand, the imaginary being is one that is subject only to the whims of the person imagining it.
You'd have to be pretty dumb to spend money on it, though.

Sexuality and the desire for female companionship cannot be entirely dispensed with.
Nature plays a trick on us by making us worship an "image" of love and women that do not exist. We are programmed to sacrifice everything for it, but then reality rears it head and only too late do we realize that we have been duped and destroyed for a fantasy.
Johann wolfgang von Goethe — 'Love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing; a confusion of the real with the ideal never goes unpunished.'
Waifuism is just rightfully choosing the ideal over the real.

In Ovid's narrative, Pygmalion was a Cypriot sculptor who carved a woman out of ivory and named her Galatea. According to Ovid, after seeing the Propoetides prostituting themselves, he was "not interested in women", but his statue was so fair and realistic that he fell in love with it.
In time, Aphrodite's festival day came, and Pygmalion made offerings at the altar of Aphrodite. There—too scared to admit his desire—he quietly wished for a bride who would be "the living likeness of my ivory girl".
When he returned home, he kissed his ivory statue, and found that its lips felt warm. He kissed it again, touched its breasts with his hand, and found that the ivory had lost its hardness. Aphrodite had granted Pygmalion's wish.

Guess waifuism is ok as long as it keeps one away from the 3d demons…

I have mixed feelings about waifuism.
My main problem is that most waifuists are extremely dogmatic. For example IMHO there's nothing wrong with being a polywaifuist, i.e. having multiple imaginary girlfriends. But most waifuists will tell you to fuck off if you have this opinion ;_;.

I'm a waifufag but I'm not sure I'd consider myself mgtow because of it. I'm sympathetic to the cause though. Most people are shit and not worth being with. People realizing this will be great for them. So many friends/family are desperate and cling to people that treat them like shit. Especially men because beta white knighting.
>>136The massive majority of people will tell you that you're a shit for having a waifu even jokingly. What's stopping you from giving the finger to just a few more?

On Christmas Eve I bought a picture frame. I sat down to my computer and thought about which anime girl I was the most fond of. I chose Kinomoto Sakura. I printed out a picture of her and cut the picture to the right size, then I inserted it in the picture frame. It was a short, but pretty fun project. Since that, I talk to her every day. I used to talk to my (regular) pillows, but I realized that it only works if I "talk back" ie. I emulate the voice of my waifu. I've been doing this while looking at her picture lately. It's really therapeutic. Sometimes it's a bit difficult talking like a cute little loli for minutes, but it's worth it. I'm not focused enough to do it silently, only imagining her voice.
>inb4 cool story bro
I just wanted to share my experiences. I think that there's too much theory and not enough empirical observations about waifuism.

Not a waifuist here but MGTOW typically don't have set way of thinking, The TOW part - their own way is an important part of the MGTOW 'philosophy' if you will.
The main essence of being an MGTOW IMO, is realizing what modern laws largely shaped by radical feminism have done to the institution of marriage and how men are disadvantaged by it and shaping your lifestyle accordingly.
As long as you realize your waifu is a fantasy and try to separate that emotional component when you are in the real world, there is nothing wrong with it

Not a waifuist but I see nothing wrong with an MGTOW having a waifu. As long as fantasy doesn't impose itself on reality

>>243I also really like the idea of waifuism as a movement.
It does have roots in Japanese herbivore men to my understanding, and that's almost something like a sister movement to MGTOW.
Can men have waifus without being MGTOW? Certainly. And of course not every MGTOW has to have a waifu. However, the two are still very compatible, as I see no reason why they can't be.
Best wishes to you all from

I don't see anything wrong with collecting physical things of your waifu. MGTOW is ultimately about making yourself happy, fuck what society and everyone else thinks right? So if it makes someone happy to collect figmas of a cute anime girl they really like, to each their own.

Not a waifuist, but if any of these guys feel better about being waifuists, good for them!
Obviously the male mind doesn't actually like women (other than a mother figure, which is another discussion entirely), just things that look like women, 2D included. Waifus fulfill this desire. If you've transcended this desire, please share your secret, but if not, don't feel bad! You're still free, socially, politically, and economically, you've just got a quirky habit that you may well enjoy.
