all the European states would be reduced to a status equivalent to that of a US state

losing their national sovereignty in the process

>There's a tension in the way the European Union is set up. It has a lot of the responsibilities of a state, such as managing migration and trade policy, and some of the institutions of one. But it doesn't have the power of one, and that tension is part of how the Greece debt crisis got so bad.

>The vast majority of spending in Europe is done by individual countries rather than by the EU as an institution. There's a common EU policy on sales taxes, but those taxes are still collected by member states. There's a joint European defense policy and a European peacekeeping force, but no European military

If vox supports something it is almost always wrong or the opposite is the truth.

>Specifically, the term United States of Europe—as a direct comparison with the United States of America—would imply that all the European states would be reduced to a status equivalent to that of a US state, losing their national sovereignty in the process and becoming constituent parts of a European federation.

>Greece is being pillaged. Following a neoliberal economic formula, Greek publicly owned assets are forcibly being sold to foreign investors to pay the debts of the banks. All the means for the Greek government to generate income have been liquidated to private enterprises.

>France has proposed that the 19 EU members in the eurozone form their own federal government complete with a single budget, one treasury department/ministry, and a unified parliament as a means of tackling the economic crisis in Greece. French President François Hollande penned an article in the Journal du Dimanche last month, calling for the formation of what is essentially a “United States of Europe” that would effectively relegate all existing governments in the eurozone into provincial or state-level governments.

Wouldn't be a bad thing if they formed a fair voting process for all the states. It wouldn't even change anything, national governments in Europe are already bound by so many treaty agreements just to be a member of the European Union. They are subject to judgements by European Courts etc. At the moment it's a very poor form of democracy where only corporate and lobbying interests are represented. Regular people don't really get a vote at all in European elections. With some reform the idea could work. I'd like for English to be a common language, and free speech rights would be nice too. Censorship and mass surveillance should not happen in Europe.

that was the goal all along, the Yuropean union is the new soviet union. I only hope the britbongs will secede and start a new wave of nationalist movements in yurop and I also hope the rednecks in burgerland start to secede and set a good example

>I'd like for English to be a common language

Pleb detected.

>At the moment it's a very poor form of democracy where only corporate and lobbying interests are represented.

And why is that? Oh yes, those institutions are too far away from the people, both physically and in mentality. Most of those bureaucrats live in their little bubbles of EU, so they don't share the reality with the actual peoples of this continent.

>With some reform the idea could work.

How? You'd have to bring it closer to the people. For that you'd have to decentralize everything. And then it wouldn't work as a united state.

Adding an other layer of hierarchy to the top of it only deepens the problem. No, you have to burn it down to the ground.

Just ask any sane citizen of the USA what do they think about the federal government. For example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wickard_v._Filburn

They fucked over some farmer for growing wheat for his own chickens, claiming that by not taking part in interstate commerce he took part in interstate commerce. Can you imagine the bullshit we had here, with all the different countries and cultures added to the mix?

>Wouldn't be a bad thing if they formed a fair voting process for all the states.

I sure as fuck do not want some Swedish/English cuckold deciding on whether I should allow dirty Third-World immigrants to culturally enrich me.

All voting systems are unfair because they infringe upon the decision-making of others. This drawback is only mitigated by constituencies being tightly knit and all members feeling the consequences of voted-upon decisions. The fucking English have no business saying what should go on in Romania, or the Slovaks about the situation in Spain. If some liberal cuckold in Western Europe doesn't want a hunting season on Gypsies: fine. Xe doesn't have to have one in his rape-infested shithole. I, however, do want one and view it as integral to my human identity to peer at an unhygienic Indian through the scope of a high-powered sniper rifle before I squeeze the trigger and watch its head burst like a pinata.

THERE IS NO REAL DEMOCRACY IN THE EUROPEAN UNION!

This has been proven when the Greeks voted in a referendum against bail-ins / austerity. The majority said "NO!"

What did the European Union do. Scoff. Then they said "TOO BAD! We run the show, not you!" After that Greek's bank accounts were looted along with all their safety deposit boxes!

Anyone who thinks we are living in a "democracy" is delusional. Banksters run the show, and they own all the career politicians and govt!

Too bad the Greeks were not armed like the American people, because they would have revolted by now by squatting in their homes and refusing to pay the bills / rent / mortgage!

When bail-ins come to in America (they will), armed Americans are just gonna say fuck it! They'll squat in their homes, armed, and refuse to pay for what they can no longer afford. Preppers will have an upper advantage because they'll be loaded with supply.

Point being this: the system was rigged against us, get used to it, prepare!

The European Union is full of fascistic scum. It's a bureaucracy that has usurped national sovereignty! I really hope America learns from the mistakes made. The same kind of fascistic scum is trying to usurp the United States through the TPP! We need to be ready for what stunts they are about to pull. America, keep stockpiling weapons / ammo / clips and cleaning kits / lube and spares. The day will come, soon, when the same fascistic scum will rob YOU just like they did to the Greeks. If you are armed and prepared, they cannot control you - and they know and fear that! All you know what the fuck I'm trying to say here, get ready because we need to take cans of whoop-ass to those whom attempt to subjugate the American people! Why!? Cause Stone Cold said so!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that sounds more like what you WISH would happen instead of what will happen. you're so frustrated with the system in place that you want to see it crash and burn. and I can totally relate. I just think if we ever started a revolt, we don't have a snowball's chance in hell against our own military. i really hope it doesn't come to that, the only use my gun will be is to put myself out of misery before they do.

Sure you can, and Greece has some experience:

>The truth is, for better or worse, historically, bankruptcies seem to be the prerogative for modernizing Greece's politics. "I don't believe that there ever was, or is, a Greek tradition of imprudent lending," countered Yiannis Miols, Professor of Political Economy at the University of Athens, and long-time head of the Economics team.

A federated Europe can't happen, and if it happens it ends with Europe balkanizing, and I don't mean they'll just go back to being unified countries, no I mean that thousands of small states will pop up everywhere, with the european "army" being inable to counter the millions of rebels all around the continent.
