Some of these inflatables are getting pretty cheap, they look nice in the shop and they pack into a bag which is nice.

Are they good or are they a waste of money? And if so - which one should I get?

Depends on preference and environment. Personally would use a mat/pad but your mileage may very. Check the vid from Joe Bushinet (so) bushcraft about his gear used for a recent outing.

Waste of money. Nigger just use a sleeping bag. Gosh. I'm helping you out, avoid bedrolls if you can get a really high quality one too

sleeping on top of a sleeping bag is lumpy

inside it is more or less the same deal

i can imagine that there would also be very little to stop the sticks, roots, rocks and ground from bothering you.

i have never used an inflatable mat but it looks like an inflatable version of those mats

if they deflate as fast as an air matress you will be out of air really fast in that tiny thing.

get a foam mat and put a sleeping bag on top of it like >>816 says, you get the stiffer support you need

I have a coleman inflatable and while it started out great after several trips it now slowly inflates not matter how hard you close the valve so it doesn't really have a advantage over a regular foam roll anymore
