I do not think it is a pedophile video. Yes, it is one of many possible interpretaions, but not the only one. For example it could also be about a divore which results in the separation of daughter and father. Or Maddie isn't even representing a child here, but an adult.

I am not so fond of interpreting art in a way where every element has to represent an element in reality. I rather think art is about trying to create a constellation where you have emotions that are similar to emotions you have in contexts in daily life. Anyway:

They could represent the reasons for him, the father, staying in the town they were living together as a family, while his ex wife and the daughter are moving to another state/country. For example such reasons could be a job, a house, a sick family member he has to take care of. It also could represent an addiction or another condition that makes it impossible for him to lead a normal life and be the father he wants to be.

Again, this is one possible interpretation and far from obvious for me. If you look closely, you can see that it is rather thumb sucking.

PS: Believe it or not, there are actually children out there sucking on their thumbs for reasons different from mimicking oral sex.

As someone with an intense attraction to minors, I can say I saw nothing sexual about this video whatsoever (other than thinking the girl was beautiful as anything), even going into it under the mindset that this article created. I got the impression of fighting off some kind of addiction based trauma. The reaching out when she was asleep shows wanting more of it, but then the moment you take it (wake her up) it starts beating the shit out of you, but you cant stop wanting it and fighting with it. Her escaping from the cage is your failing attempts to quit the drug. You want to fight it off, but you cant even reach it to stop it from running all around your life. Shes not wanting him, if you look at her expression shes LAUGHING at him as she pretends to try and help him when really shes just taunting him.

Actually some people like me didn’t get a sexual vibe from the video. I saw it more like father daughter struggling together. Honestly most women are super insecure and bitter about girls and men interacting that they try to make it sexual and claim “rape vibes”. They know that girls are competition they can’t win against so they try to demonize any interaction between girls and men. There are plenty interactions with girls and men that aren’t sexual, I for one can interact with females and not make it sexual. To reduce everything to that is offensive and a scare tactic. I loves this video.

Addiction fits well. Leaving that cage is leaving a comfort zone. One of many barriers you try to set up and never cross. Outside of that, you never know if you can keep it up.
