On my end, I'm connected to 'peers' (but not downloading) so I'm inclined to believe you've done everything correctly.
I believe that the problem lies in that you have a tremendously large torrent you're uploading and at the moment you are the only one seeding it, with a ~5 leechers, so it's taking an obscenely long time.
Once more people download your torrent (or even small parts of it) and are able to seed (those small parts) the upload/download speed will increase and everything will be fine.
Right now, you'll simply have to leave you computer on, and your torrent client running (seeding) so that others can download it from you and then carry the torch from there, so to speak. Of course keeping your running/seeding constantly is only recommended, if you turn off your computer/torrent client and stop seeding it'll take that much longer.
So now, we simply wait

A torrent of that size is a terrible idea because people tend to avoid torrents that are not completed seeded 100%. Same problem with a torrent called the Myriad Mathematical Library which had all sorts of higher level math book scans. It was huge, but its hugeness meant that it took long to download the entire thing, which meant it got fewer 100% downloads, which eventually led to its total demise.
Split it up into say 3 gig chunks and you'll have a greater chance of it surviving without your own constant support.

For those who want to sync on a box/unix system and seed the torrent once it's created.
1. Create a mega account, free one, to get the 50GB.
1b. If needed, use a temporary email, like airmail, mailinator, whatever. You will need it for the confirmation mail.
2. Use OP's mega link to get on his dump
3. Select his content and import it to your mega, in a dedicated folder (Do not name your folder by starting with /).
(This way, it multiplies the sources so if one gets banned, yours may still be here, and other reason is that you will be able to get a link to download the whole folder)
NB: If you do this step several time (to import a mega in which files have been added by OP, for instance) you will have to remove the dupes. Mega is pretty stupid and doesn't see there is already the same file.
4. Get on your terminal and install megatools https://archive.is/hzGv7
(it's in sid depositories for debian, and for others, who cares, you're faggots if you use something else. It's in aur for archfags.)
5. Get on the folder you will dedicate to your dump, which you will rename by the name of the torrent folder once it's done, if it's done one day.
6. Use the megadl 'https: whatever the link of your folder mega will give you'
7. Wait, it's downloading. It will tell you the file already exists and download the others.
Once your folder is done and has all the files, you just have to wait for a torrent to be created.
If it's done, just rename the folder where you have put your stuff with the same name the torrent creator will have given his folder.
Download your torrent and ask your client to put the content where it already is. It will seed. Eventually update the files you didn't have if the creator of the torrent added stuff.

What you have there is not mint but archlinux.
It's pretty much the polar opposite of mint in that it's one of the builds that requires a lot of linux code knowledge.

I suppose you're not downloading from repositories (software manager) and that's where the newcomers don't survive (I still have trouble with this).
Anyway, enter terminal, go
>su root
Enter your password.
Navigate to folder containing the file.
>ls
[lists files inside current folder]
>cd foldername
[enters folder with foldername]
>cd ..
[goes one folder back]
So you navigate your folder, use "ls" to see if file is there.
Now that it is use:
>tar -xf filename
This will decompress the tar.bz2 file in your folder. Don't take this from granted, "-xf" is from memory.
Now you can access the files from archive and follow the tutorial.
