In the 2nd episode, this whole gay thing even goes just like in comedies of the 90s making fun of gay "misunderstanding", as Mulder thinks he's getting some info but the other guy thinks he's gay. They get through this misunderstanding with the grace that should have SJWs and LQBTWTFBBQ rolling around in the oppression tubes right now.
As for the tranny thing, in the 3rd episode there's a cracked-out tranny whore as an eyewitness to a monster attack, after sex operation. Later in the episode Mulder is talkign to the "monster" guy who says he remembers attackign a "lady, who actually looked like a guy now that I think about it".
Mulder's answer here is the only thing that seems a bit weird, like a pre-recorded laugh - it reads like a Wikipedia abstract of what is "transgender" and sex change in a few sentences. The monster, with issues, then says "Maybe I could do that, maybe it could change my problem [of turning into 'monster'], and Mulder says: "They cut off your genitals."
Both cringe, and the monster says: "Yikes… none of that for me, then."

I watched the Sylvester McCoy episodes as a kid and really enjoyed them in the late 80s. The reboot was like another phantom menace moment for me. Hated it because it bore little resemblance to the old show and it destroyed my nostalgia by pandering to a new audience instead of keeping the old fans happy.
Watched the McCoy episodes again recently and was shocked to discover it was cuckolded left wing bullshit even back then - childhood naivety and nostalgia goggles had clouded my vision.
It was full of left wing propaganda even then. A lot of the episodes were written by a David ((Aaronovich)) whos father was a prominent communist which goes some way to explaining it. The propaganda was pretty blatant though. The new female companion at the time, Ace, was a prototyple of the godawful 'grrrrl power' shit that has since become the much derided trope that we all know and hate today. She was a lefty-anarchist activist type who wore a bomber jacket covered in badges. In one episode she is literally given a soviet hammer and sickle insignia by a commie soldier and it is worn with pride on her jacket for the rest of the series (pic 1)
I also recall there was a time travel episode which featured King Arthurs knights coming into modern day britain and sir Lancelot falls in love with and has a romance an incredibly masculine black female soldier (pic two)
They are two examples I can remember offhand but there are many many more. The pozz runs old and deep in Dr Who. It was subverted good and proper by the mid 80s.

Really though, Poison is the greatest change of all. There's hundreds of other fighting games and beat'emups with female enemies, but how many are outright stated to be trannies?

Apparently you missed the bigger story, that the first episode of the new X-Files season was named 'My Struggle', after Mein Kampf, and basically retconned the entire alien mythos of the series as being faked and said that actually human elites were behind the entire conspiracy, mentioned 9/11 being an inside job, referred to chemtrails, HAARP, gun-grabbing, FEMA coffins, NWO takeover, etc. Having a monster-of-the-week episode refer to gender benders is hardly a big deal, after all even in the first season of X-Files there was an episode called 'Gender Bender' about people who could change sex.
