-Food becomes to expensive to buy.
All other revolutions were engineered by some outside force.

We occupy a gray area of sorts. Aware of the greater environment, but powerless in the face of the elite though they've taken no direct action against us. There are millions of us, but we're diluted by the rubes. This may be the next big awakening of groups called the alt-right and such. Simply abandoning the rubes to whatever fate happens upon them and raising up our own as the elite have done.
