Honestly they're so lighthearted I'd say they're not making fun of the views necessarily, but just the fact that it's not a political issue and a lot of cartoonists dramatize their own lives and trivial opinions into their work, the longer they've been doing it.

Local burger police are usually at their wits end dealing with dindus in their neighborhoods so their passive aggressive nature tends to trickle down to people that refuse or don't want to fight back with a cop. Think of the Germany police without the restraint to act professionally in front of citizens.
