There really isn't any contraceptive that is 100% safe. Abstinence is the only way I suppose.
I'm pro-choice, but only before the 10th week, and even then I don't feel as though it's completely okay. Ideally it should be done before the 8th week, while it's still an embryo, but it can be difficult for women to make a doctor's appointment in time.
After the 10th week it should only be permitted for rape victims, mentally ill women, girls/children under the age of 15, if the mother is in physical danger because of the pregnancy or if the pregnancy is worsening her condition, or if the fetus is severely ill; suffering from e.g. type II osteogenesis imperfecta.
