It means that the solution to our problem isn't as easy as simply encouraging civilians to patrol the border. The actual border itself is only HALF the problem. By saying that my thought experiment is stupid, that I just need to join a local border patrol insetad of having a discussion with you guys, means that you are severely underestimating the problem.

in the 50s and 60s people actually did start their own volunteer organizations to patrol borders, especially in texas. it was in response to the post WWII 'red scare' and it was very effective.

then the media started their campaign against it and you still see it today, depicting patriotic volunteers as inbred, hateful, drunken, impoverished rednecks. in TV, movies, even the newest GTA has side missions where you get to round up mexicans with ol' billy bob and his white trash friends, complete with hilarious dialogue in exaggerated southern accents, and the character you play goes along with it but is obviously repulsed by their stupidity. you can't consume any american media without eventually coming across this propaganda.

Here's a fun thought for any swedes reading, Sweden has one of the highest rates of civilian gun ownership in the world and there are only some twenty thousand soldiers who are in active service with another twelve thousand resrvists and a total count of salaried personell in the service of the armed forces no greater than fifty thousand.

It would indeed be trivial for principled young men in Sweden to form armed militias to secure your nations borders that would vastly outnumber the armed forces in Sweden. To make this thought experiment even more fun, imagine the number of soldiers likely to join your cause if clearly defined.

I'm no legal expert, but I'm wondering. Isn't it perfectly legal to shoot them just like it would be to shoot a soldier from an invading army?

Even the underground syndicates are hitting these areas hard according to this report because of the amount of unaccompanied children walking along the road by themselves. If anything, the German men would be doing some of these "children" a favor by handling the children themselves rather than give them up to the human traffickers, who do God knows what to them.

A volunteer operation on this weak point in the migrant route would be entirely in the favor of the German people of Passau, which is struggling endlessly to meet the needs of their migrant "guests". Would you be willing to lift the burden of your own people, Germanbros?

Method of Operation

1) Acquire the funds to support a team of people lasting for approx. 1 - 2 months. (Food, shelter, clothes, etc.) Also, acquire weaponry and vehicles.

2) Determine a location/facility away from the highway within the city itself or on the outskirts of it, particularly an isolated location which will serve as a holding grounds for the migrants.

3) Survey the highway for approx. 1 month with photo and video footage.

4) Determine whether there are any migrants receiving vehicular transportation. If the number is zero or simply unknown, proceed with the plan.

5) Locate strategic points on the road where there are less cars, but more migrants on foot. The less open the better.

6) Determine your method of capture depending on the technology available; For example, forcing a target or targets into a vehicle or tricking them into getting into one.

7) If there is foliage (I think there is) along the highway, set up a small facility or holding camp there for temporarily holding targets.

8) Devise a plan to transport targets from the highway to the holding facility mentioned in previously acquired.

9) Execute the operation.

10) Demand through secure channels that the government receive the targets and escort them out of the city, or else they would be held in the holding facility indefinitely until a deal is made.

11) Garner public support from Passau and the rest of Germany and persuade them towards your cost.

12) The previous two steps should be planned out before the operation begins.

This would spark great nationwide and international discussion on the conflict of forced migration upon an unwilling people. It also goes without a doubt in this proposed plan that the volunteers would have to be willing to die should the mission fail.
