Not only does it log all ip's in plain text for all admin and any one that wants to become a global volunteer to see, it allows them to log/save/sell all this info..

There is no reason for them to have access or log all this info in the first place, when it could all be hashed.

Hashing is stupid because you can just bruteforce the data to get the original ips. You need to partially anonymize that data first which is usually done by clipping off the last octet.
