There's been pro nationalist rallies by Hong Kong student groups against their Chinese overlords through out last year. Flash mobs would assault Chinese tourists and business men. They even made it so there where literally no Chinese tourists in Hong Kong for a few days. because dogs are predators, it is fundamentally inefficient to raze a predator for food. a predator is more likely exposed to parasites than a herbivore/ omnivore. in addition to that dogs where bread to be companion animals to aid us in labor/hunting. and so in the same way that we don't eat horse we don't eat dog but atop that it is far more expensive per pound to raze dogs for food than a pig/cow/horse. and mostly it is subsadised by people feeding said dogs out of the kindness of their hearts.
