Nothing will change as long as the communists are in charge.
Traditions don't die so easily, but subversion by the communists are very successful. Most of the time the people see any portrayal of tradition, it's in entertainment controlled by the state. And entertainment is stale in China. There are basically 3 types of shows on TV: drama involving past empires, communists being warriors that freed the people from evil nips, and modern degenerate reality shows. This basically kills the culture since the aspects that young people see are state certified kosher variants.
Another problem with the Chinese is that they have no engagement in politics, and thus understand very little of various political philosophies, just how the communists like it. There's a reason why only in places like Hong Kong you see student protests.
As for our native religious stuff, it isn't all its cranked up to be. Chinese medicine is mostly a load of crap that gets spread by opportunists, and same with religion. It's all basically astrology for Asians™.
