long time reader,first time poster.

I have lolipop 5.0 on my note 3 and i hate it. i found a site that looks like it will help me in downgrading back to kitkat.

now the site is telling me to back up my note 3 by using the app: helium

in the app store the demo video for hilum refers to it as carbon for whatever reason… ive DLed the app and now it says it need a desktop app to comunicate with my pc if i'm not rooted. I'm not rooted because lollipop so i see no problem with needing a desktop app.

so now im connected but not detected by carbon or helium or whatever. it states if the phone is not detected i may need to update my drivers, which ive never done, so it looks like ill be doiing just that.

here's the entire process,start finish. lets hope it works for at least one other anon.

How to downgrade Samsung Note 3 to Android KitKat

Once all the files have been downloaded, extract them and place them on your desktop.

Switch off your Note 3 smartphone and reboot it in Download Mode. To put your Note 3 in Download mode you have to press and hold combination of buttons. Press Volume Down + Power + Home button for about 8 seconds. After about 8 seconds you will see a yellow warning sign. Press Volume Up to continue and you will enter in Download Mode of Samsung Note 3 smartphone.

Open odin software as this software will help you in downgrading your device.

Now connect your Note 3 smartphone with your computer and the software will automatically detect that you have connected the device to your computer. You will see ADDED message on the software.

Once you see Added written, click on AP button and browse the file tar.md5 which you extracted in Step 1.

Make sure F.Reset Time and Auto Reboot options are checked and Re-Partition option is not checked.

Click on Start button to start the downgrading process. It will take about a minute or two to complete the entire process. When you see PASS written in green on Odin software it means that your device is successfully downgraded.

thats it. i'm still preparing for step one because drivers and backing up but hopefully youll be more prepared. be sure to post your success and what you did differently if anything.

im on 4.4.4 and i dont want to update to the new os. it suck ass. i just don't want it! what can i do to prevent my phone from auto updating to 5.0?
