So in the trailer this quote is said:

>"The Force is strong in my family, my father has it, I have it, my sister has it, you have that power too"

Who the fuck is saying that? I'm guessing the son of Luke since Leia didn't have the force. Or did she? I heard plebs saying it's Luke saying that quote since it's his voice.

Billions of Jedi descendants scattered around the whole galaxy?

When I first watched the original trilogy (like 15 years ago) i found the Telepathy part more as part of that sibling connection than the force.

Why you have to be mad?

That is a very strange conclusion to come to when telepathy is an established force ability.

they wouldn't be grandkids, it's only 30 years since jedi. both are fully grown people who dick around with no time for settling down, despite how much i want rey to settle down on my dick.

also rey is in the rumor wheel of being han & leia's daughter, not luke's. poe would be a neat surprise, since it seems he does fuck all most of the movie.

>>2673

>>2677

yoda's line also came from before lucas decided leia was luke's sister

you also have to remember that lucas had obi-wan come back to life at one point, shit constantly changed. if anything it was just a cliffhanger twist that at the last moment he decided he had to pursue it.

that's luke telling leia she has the power of the force as well you dummy, embed related, 1:30 for the lines.

Conflicting rumors.

Early on I heard they find Luke's Lightsaber and his hand from ESB.

This changed into it being a robot hand that might or might not be Luke's.

Also heard rumors of it being Vader's Lightsaber but the concept art shows that it's blue.

it is very obviously anakin's rots saber that's given to luke

the rumored plot synopsis is revolved around rey and finn finding said lightsaber somehow on jakku and they take it to some dike alien thing who gives them the quest to find luke which somehow leads to the rest of the movie

kylo ren's saber however is believed to be made from whatever was left of vader's saber that magically survived the destruction of the death star and fell down to endor's moon

It really is the dialogue. With some Whedon-level dialogue, ep3 really could have been as good as the originals. How Lucas could have come up with such an iconic, engaging world with such advanced plots involving political maneuvering and shit, and then turn around and write conversations like an autistic teenager baffles me.

It always bothered me that the scene with obiwan as a captive, when he seems so honest and reveals the truth about sidious, that obiwan just scoffs all "i'll never join you". I think he would have been a much more effective character if he managed to fool them for longer.

Now I'm imagining a followup to those what-if alternate history Infinities comics for the prequels. Some examples of what they could do:

>Episode I

What if the Royal Cruiser's hyperdrive didn't break down, and Anakin was never freed from slavery to become a Jedi?

>Episode II

What if Obi-Wan listened to Dooku, becoming his apprentice and throwing a giant wrench into all of Palpatine's plans?

>Episode III

Not really sure what could be done here. Darth Vader not being mortally wounded? The Episode III video game did that one. Obi-Wan and Yoda manage to defeat Palatine and Vader, but aren't able to clear the name of the Jedi and are still considered traitors to the Republic?

Get the fuck out of here you fucking casual. Faggots like you wouldn't care two shits if a talking carrot was added because of your shitty logic. Star Wars had a consistency before the CGI Clone Wars and most especially before the prequels. Doing needless shit simply because you can is simply bullshit. Hell, the only reason there isnt more beef about this is because most casuals normies dont even know that the desert in this film is actually Jakku, but those who have found out have admitted to the needless change. Both die-hard fans and casual fans can agree that this is bullshit. Only ones who don't are those who simply watch movies and read comics for a few hours of just mindlessly forgetting about something stupid in their lives. To others, franchises and works of fiction like this are an art and should be handled with care and consistency.

star wars is first and foremost referred to as "space opera", not directly science-fiction or fantasy/sci-fi

Say what you will about land battles being garbage or that Rebellion was better, but it saddens me we'll never get another Star Wars-themed space RTS that good again. Also, correct me I'm wrong but I'm guessing Tyber Zann and the whole Zann Consortium is non-existent now, right? Wasted potential if you ask me.

it wasn't lucas' idea to discard it

every book and game went through his approval, so before disney chose to handwave, it technically was canon, just not at the same level of canon as the films.

 No.2564

>>2535

The Clone Wars CGI series took a lot of advice and suggestions from Lucas, and he made many decisions that would mess up the canon, but he didn't care because he thought "this" or "this" would be better and fit his preference. Not his fans. Plus he's too old and foolish make sane choices nowadays.

 No.2574

I used to love this game back in the day, looking back the game really isn't that great. The land battles are ass, and the space battles while incredibly pretty back then don't really have any depth to them. You can click attack move in the general direction of the enemy and then go into the cinematic mode for 99% of fights. The strategic galactic map part also needed more too it, you can't just give it the typical building and research content from a traditional base building RTS and expect that to carry a Total War style campaign map. Still a fun game though, and I probably played it for over a thousand hours with mods and stuff.

As for Tyber Zann and his Zann Consortium, never liked it really. What was wrong with one of the dozens of other crime syndicates Star Wars has established? Why did we need a brand new original one just for this game? The shit they pull off during their story is also completely ridiculous, stealing the fucking Eclipse? Uncovering a carbonite frozen Sith army which you know will never go anywhere because it is never mentioned elsewhere in the EU? Should have just done something low key about building up a criminal underworld power and profiteering off the GCW.

the reasoning behind it is that the saber is built from spare parts and remnants of vader's lightsaber, the "crossguards" are actually sort of exhaust ports so that the blade is stable, if you notice in the teaser it kinda flickers and diddles around before the sides pop out

at least, that's the current theory, it hasn't been confirmed yet but would make sense.

People say Samuel L. Jackson was a bad choice for this character, and I guess I can see where the criticism comes from. But I think he managed to breathe some life into a character who otherwise would have been completely flat.

Apparently having Mace die confronting Palpatine rather than "like some punk" (i.e. all the other Jedi sans Yoda and Kenobi) was Jackson's idea, based BMF

 No.2444

I like it, more than I like Episode VI really. I'd give it a 7.5, maybe 8/10. The action is great, and the acting and dialog is a big step up from the previous two prequels. The movie's biggest problems are that romance, and the pacing. Its trying to do far too many things at once, you could probably edit Episode III into two different movies if you really tried.

>>2441

>ep 3 is the only prequel necessary to watch

It really is. Episode I is completely pointless when you get down to it, and while Episode II establishes a lot of important things you can skip it and still understand III just fine.
