Ok, Stormtroopers, I just got the original trilogy on VHS, pre-special edition, and, after watching them again, I've noticed a lot of inconsistencies between them and the prequels
>stormtroopers are just dudes in uniforms
>the rule of two is BS, as Palpatine wants Vader to make Luke 'become one of us'
>the Obi-wan robe isn't the Jedi uniform, he's in hiding, and wears robes just like everyone else on Tatooine.
>the imperial senate still held power up till A New Dope

>>501I always took 'Aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?' to be an oblique reference to stormtroopers being clones.
And that was in the early 80s.

>>292those are pretty small as far as inconsistencies go. What about something like, Obi-wan in ANH says the republic lasted a thousand generations, but in AotC Palpatine says the republic has only been around for 1000 years. That always bothered me.

>>504The Post-Ruusaan Reformation one was about 1000 years on the dot, the Republic as a whole lasted several thousands of years longer.

>>510The Ruusaan Reformation was a retcon to explain the discrepancy between the two movie quotes though, the quotes themselves are Lucas not knowing what the fuck he was talking about by the time he wrote the prequels. The actual discrepancy between a republic being around for 1000 or 20,000-30,000 years is pretty damn massive.
