after further analysis i have come up with some pros and cons
pros
- looks great
- plays like battlefront
- on-rails at-at doesn't seem that bad considering at-at can call in orbital strikes
- first person view isnt cod shenanigans, third person mode looks great as well
cons
- rotj luke on hoth
- blue squadron? the fuck is that, it's rogue squadron
- regenerating health
- game still seriously needs balancing, it looked like the dh-17 was fucking up that tie fighter good, and the guy survived a direct shot from the at-st and then proceeds to kill it with one rocket?

the weapons are practically the same, as in no aiming down the sights bullshit but instead a scoped/zoomed in view and a hip-fire view. even heroes look to be quite similar to swbf2's mechanics/animations. so yeah, it plays like battlefront should.
also forgot to add to the list of pros in >>4102
the flyers have cockpit views, thank fuck.
>>4105
considering there was only a small amount of snowspeeders, yeah i find it hard to believe the rebellion had any other squads there.

Don't like TIEs and X-Wings on Hoth but with some polish the game might be ok.
Bit weird seeing all those alien rebels on Hoth when in the movie they were all human.
No.4115
Why does everyone forget that they couldn't use the speeders on Hoth until they were adapted to the cold?
This is also seems to be why they couldn't use TIEs or X-Wings in the Battle of Hoth.

So Kyle Katarn and Dash Rendar are featured in shitty games for bringing down almost single handedly major Imperial/Baddies shenanigans.
Plus BFII was pretty much the same thing because of the braindead friendly A.I.
Still have problem doing that Naboo level up to this day in story mode

Story mode in BFII was excellent, I liked how it filled in gaps between the movies instead of just rehashing the movie battles.

So does it trigger anyones autism when they have Imperial Class Star Destroyers in the planet's atmosphere in pretty much all Battlefront games even though they are not atmospheric capable?

It'd probably have them make more sense that way - if the ship goes into like an ocean or crawls along in the outer layers of a gas giant or something, the tower doesn't seem quite such a poor design. It'd get a better view topside while the lower half is submerged, regardless of any tech providing a way to see through pretty cosmic bs.
Still I'd be more concerned about how orbital bombardments got translated into a lot of small blasts instead of one huge blast. I love lots and lots of lasers but those are still better. It's just like "yeah, we only need one blast to knock you out". I wouldn't mind if the kill zone was larger and more explodey (at least with, an additional even specialer but less available orbital attack that way) at the very least.
>>4101
I hope that means that you could change a hero's style regardless of which battle they're in.
Also thread should have been named EAffront.

Old EU. The Victory Class SD was the largest rated for Atmospheric flight.
No.4191

Well the Rebels were supposed to have shield generators and the ion cannon to keep them away, but EA was like fuck that.
No.4194
>>4173
In the new canon Star Destroyers can fly close to the surface.
>>4191
Star Destroyers should be able to fly through the shield, I think it only stops weapons fire.
Due to the effects of the time I don't think how it works was communicated very well in ESB.
No.4195
>>4191
there's clearly an ion cannon on the hoth map, the tie fighter blows it up.
No.4197
>>4195
also someone correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't the reason for the ground invasion because they couldn't do an orbital bombardment thanks to the rebel's shield generator?
No.4198

Tie fighter should not have enough firepower to destroy it. They needed ATATs for that
No.4232
>>4114
I believe that there was no actual problem with the X-wings on Hoth. It was only ever the snow speeders that had to be adapted for the cold weather.
And going into it more, TIEs and X-wings fight in the vacuum of space, which is likely far colder than Hoth
:^)
>>4198
Imp SD has been seen in atmosphere but supposedly the VicStar can land and offload
>>4219
AT-AT was needed to blow up the shield generator, once it was down there's no reason that a TIE Fighter couldn't do a good job on assaulting the Ion Cannon
No.4233
>>4232
Should note that Shield Generator was still up in trailer.
No.4315
I bet 500 credits that the game will be nothing like the demo or the trailers.
No.4498
so it seems that hero assault was confirmed via some spanish website
now what i'm guessing is, since this is ea, we'll be getting character dlc out the ass, which would most certainly mean clone wars map packs, or EU characters.

not that it excuses the developers or anything, you're absolutely right that cockpits should have been in from the start, and dicefront certainly gets brownie points for adding that in.
