It really is the dialogue. With some Whedon-level dialogue, ep3 really could have been as good as the originals. How Lucas could have come up with such an iconic, engaging world with such advanced plots involving political maneuvering and shit, and then turn around and write conversations like an autistic teenager baffles me.
