What do you guys think of the title? Good, bad? Also, what do you think it could mean?

 No.235

Pretty bad from a lore standpoint. Shouldn't the force already be awake? Shouldn't it always be awake? That doesn't inspire a lot of faith in the new films.

 No.236

Not as bad as Attack of the Clones, but… Eh.

 No.240

>>236

attack of the clones had a literal meaning though

every title has had a literal meaning, except this. this is jj trying to be the new edgy and mysterious guy while remaining faithful to star wars but he's mashing shit that shouldn't be mashed.

i'm still hyping because of the concept art and the full-scale falcon and x-wings, but this title is awful and needs to go back to whatever george lucas or michael arndt had called ep 7.

Yep, It's vague as shit, I think it will have something to do with the fact there's no more Sith, or something stupid like that.

The way I see it, that title seems more akin to one of those SW related movies they say they are gonna make, like it would be perfect for a movie set in the start of the SW universe, but that's just me, I'm not versed in th EU so excuse me if what I say doesn't do much sense, just what I think would be cool.

 No.249

might be cool

 No.278

Its an okay title. But like someone said, from a lore standpoint its awkward. Also am i the only one tired of people shitting on Attack of the Clones on as a title. Like mother fuckers, clones really do attack in that movie. Like thats such a simple name. How have people failed to get that.

what would you title episode one

 No.351

>>234

Title is no better or worse than the prequels. Basically just a chapter heading meant to evoke the old school movie serial feel.

My guess on the meaning is that we see dozens (hundreds? thousands?) of new force sensitive people 'awaken' which creates many problems, but also creates the opportunity for the Jedi (and the Sith?) to rebuild in the sequels.

You over-assuming idiot. Who said we wanted the helmets to look the same? There have been plenty of helmet redesigns over the years in many games, comics, and even the prequels with the clone helmets and everyone thought they looked cool and matched up with the old design. These new helmets have a crappy aesthetic which doesn't fit with the previous helmet types at all. Its the same crappy aesthetic used in the Star Trek films and Star Wars has always had a very classy aesthetic and not to mention that you mention that this is a whole new generation even though past spinoff installments have shown that the Galaxy has been in a level of aesthetic unchange for centuries. And even if ignore all that you can easily notice how the prequels had a more smoother and futuristic feel than the OT which a had a more rustic and older feel to it (although this is mostly to blame on Lucas and his desire to make Star Wars look more futuristic instead of how it did in the OT).

That's already been pointed out and criticized along with the questionable design of the new crossguard saber. Anyway in short, the helmets look like an Apple product when they should look cheaply made and easy to mass produce. They shouldn't be fashionable, they should feel threatening.

and speaking of the cross guard, I'm under the impression the artist who designed it doesn't actually grasp how swords work. The point is to catch an enemy blade on the hilt, so in theory there should be continuous protection from the end of the guard to the blade. The design they chose has two gaps in the lightsaber beam where an enemy could cut right through

 No.2167

Exactly. Its purely an aesthetic choice to make it look edgy. The second drawing however shows a more effective design.

the reasoning behind it is that the saber is built from spare parts and remnants of vader's lightsaber, the "crossguards" are actually sort of exhaust ports so that the blade is stable, if you notice in the teaser it kinda flickers and diddles around before the sides pop out

at least, that's the current theory, it hasn't been confirmed yet but would make sense.
