The online reaction to this trailer is really pissing me off. I've never seen so much nitpicking in my life. I love the trailer and everything about it. Star Wars/

It looks absolutely gorgeous. I'm so excited. My only issue was how shakey the camera was with the Falcon. That's it.

I can't say it's bad but it feels odd. The rolling droid was definitely the worst thing about the trailer for me. If someone could please explain to me why it exists it would be very helpful. We have hover cars and bikes and spacecraft, why do droids have to roll?

Also the lightsaber is weird too. It looks cool but it's …odd

i now know how star trek fans felt when they saw the reboot

because i pretty much feel the same fucking way, despite loving the shit out of the st reboot (was never big into trek before but i became a fan after jj's films)

and yet, i find people who are big on trek and not so much on jj's films absolutely loving this teaser.

what the shit? maybe i'm just a huge faggot, or don't like change? or the world is going crazy from the fact that episode 7 is finally happening that they're willing to accept whatever shit they can get their hands on, even if it's a golden turd?

halp, i feel like i'm turning into one of those ot purists, 'cept i'll be some sort of lucas purist.

Everyone is bitching about the look of the new Stormtroopers, but I think they look pretty neat. It's the new lightsaber that I don't understand. Just why?

Yeah JJ wasn't the right man for Star Trek. Trek's appeal was in the way it addressed philosophical questions and showed how humanity would be in a post-scarcity future. JJ made it, well, Star Wars-y. So as a Trek fan I've got big hopes for JJ not fucking this up and doing a fine job.

The trailer doesn't really give enough for me to really hate it, but it also gives just enough retarded material to keep me skeptical. The rolling droid and the lightsaber with pointless cross bar being the key factors, along with the general shakiness of the camera through several of the scenes.
I feel like my problems at this point are less about whether they are going to be good Star Wars films and more about whether they are going to be the same trash Abrams has directed in the past only with X-Wings. I've liked some of his TV work, and he has played producer for decent feature films, but his career as a big screen director has only involved idiotic writing and sloppy aesthetics, typically falling a little short of mediocrity at best.
I hate to be that guy on the internet, but people defending putrid film making by saying I'm just a bitter nerd too obsessed with continuity details make me want to punch a kitten.
