Hmm tough one, at this point it's rather hard to tell. Probably the biggest obvious threat would be the 100+ man /pol/ fed 4th reich because it's /pol/ so they're likely to be aggressive. However they're far more likely to go after the MLP or waifu feds than us + I'm on good terms with their leadership.
As for the rest I really don't know how it's gonna work BAMF, SGA and Solaris Novum are all oldfag feds and are pretty stable. BAMF + SGA don't like each other much and SN has worked with both. Other feds like the space pirates and CIA are smaller and as of yet are unknown quantities (I reckon we'll see some sphess piracy and/or rising of fires form them).
All I can really say is that what usually happens is that a supra-alliance appears between ~ half the game causing the other half to react by bonding together as well causing a cold war situation that erupts into a fullscale galactic war. Loads of smaller conflicts as well +raiding issues but galactic war would be my main prediction.
As for what direction we're going to go in that depends on what the membership wants to do, we'll be voting on every decision and all officers and stuff are elected.
