HE PLAYED an iconic role in one of the biggest movie franchises of all time.

Jake Lloyd had the world at his feet and should have been the envy of every child in the world after playing Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace when he was eight years old.

Instead, the Star Wars actor quit the film industry after his childhood was turned into a "living hell".

The 22-year-old became so haunted by the movie he vowed never to act again and he has stayed true to his word.

"Other children were really mean to me," he said.

"They would make the sound of the light saber every time they saw me. It was totally mad."

Jake recalls how busy his young life became and at one point he was doing around 60 interviews a day.

"My entire school life was really a living hell - and I had to do up to 60 interviews a day."

Lloyd felt so much anger towards the George Lucas directed film that he destroyed all of his Star Wars memorabilia, and only reprised his role as Anakin for five video games.

The youngster decided to take early retirement from acting as he was no longer able to fit in at school.

"i've learned to hate it when the cameras are pointed at me," he told a magazine.

Jake, whose mother is an entertainment agent, admitted in an interview Scifitv.com that he doesn't like watching the film anymore and he blames George Lucas for that.

"When you have something like that there's a lot of expectations for it to meet the standards of the public and I don't think George did that.

"For me to go back and watch it now would be kind of creepy."

Sounds like he couldn't handle fame whatsoever, and that his mother was an idiot about it. Why schedule interviews at all? What insight could a fucking 9 year old have that is worth doing an interview over, let alone dozens?

Lloyd wasn't a bad actor. He was poorly directed by Lucas and I can see where the resentment comes from. Lucas didn't give him the tools he needed to make the role successful, and it ruined his life. A lot of people don't know this about Lloyd, but he had a really cute ass and an all around hot little body. He could have made millions in SW fetish porn, but he refused. Does anyone have any pics of his feet?

I think it's more a matter of him not being able to handle his own publicity than him being "abused" by Lucas or the film industry or whatever. I suppose I'm a bit of an asshole for holding a child actor to the standards of an adult, but even then, his caretakers or whoever should have known better than to have given him all that publicity. There's someone to blame even if it isn't Lloyd himself.

I'm also surprised that JL seems to take more offense to the fact that he was bullied as a kid than he does to the fact that his enduring legacy in life is one of the most hated roles in film history.

What a sad little bitch boy. Oh, man, must suck so much having tons of money and being famous! I'm sure he never used that to his advantage in high school!

Suck a fat cock, Jake Lloyd.

This kid actually went to my high school same time as me. I remember he was constantly surrounded by a retinue of fawning girls and sycophantic young men, forming a barrier between him and the rest of us commoners. Being a huge Star Wars nerd as I was, but a social outcast as well, I always wanted to approach him to ask about his experiences with the film. If this is the hell he went through, I'm glad that I didn't. Sad to see what he's become, although I trust he'll move on from it.
