Why? I like it. Goes hand in hand with the theme of old adventure serials. It makes sense to be honest, a King Arthur / Zelda-like quest for a sword, the sword being Luke and Anakin's blue saber.
The theme is constant, what with the castle sets, and the possibility of the surname 'Snoke' being based on a middle English word for living or having lived on a pointed bit of land. In the context of Star Wars, that describes to me a Star Destroyer.
I'll save my longing to rip the movie apart for when I've finally seen it. (This sounds like a jab at you people, but I don't mean it to be.)

I agree with this worry a bit. I have the fear of the new movie being a 'white men are the devil' picture. If Gwendoline ends up joining the brown people and the white woman on the good side, it's definitely going to leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I didn't used to think that way, the feminist take over of comics, video games and what have you have turned me more conservative than I ever imagined I would be when I was younger.
It's a shame too because I think Phasma and Poe are bad ass looking characters, whether or not they're brown or a woman.
