Republic, imperial and first order troopers each look like birth defect features made into masks to me.
Clonetroopers remind me of cleft palates with their connected mouths and noses.
Stormtroopers look like they have down syndrome with their eyes that jut a bit outward.
First order stormtroopers still look like they have down syndrome with the largeness of their eyes, but I don't know the names of any birth defects that create such a wide jaw. Also, the masks are no longer frowning. They seem rather happy about raping the galaxy now.
Looks alright to me, maybe a little too futuristic for Star Wars, but at least they're set in the future relative to the OT. The cartoon prequel troopers seemed a bit futuristic despite being 90 years old at this point in the saga.
The chest plate doesn't bother me, the imperial troopers had small points in the chest that don't really allow any room for man tits themselves.
