Maybe I'm a fag for not picking a "cooler" race, but I've always loved the Jawas. There's something very interesting about their society to me. They aren't just space gypsies, they're short little space gypsies who never show their faces, hole themselves up inside giant abandoned machines, and make their living conning the local residents with stolen droids.
The subtle implication that dealing with these creatures, who are so obviously non-human in both their appearance and means of communication, was just a regular part of human life on Tatooine really sparked my imagination when I first saw the original Star Wars / A New Hope as a child.
Plus they're cute as fuck.
