It probably draws on the fact that a lot of new releases take up a lot of space, but when the pirate version rolls around it shaves off around 15 gigabytes. Anyways, I don't know if I can do another Batman game. City was probably the height of enjoyment I got out of it, while Asylum was my favorite and Origins thoroughly burnt me out on the formula.

I'm rocking dual Titans and I still get laughable 4K performance on Arkham City. Arkham Origins, on the other hand, runs pretty damn well, surprisingly.

I'm looking forward to this game. I never really liked open world games, but Arkham City was different because everything in the open world environment felt purposeful, like Link's Awakening. It looks obviously gorgeous, and playing as Batman is a concept that's hard to get wrong.

I think the biggest issue is a) not introducing much new to combat in each installment and b) using up pretty much every villain in the first two games.
They should have held onto a few like Bane for the final game. No wonder they had to invent a new villain.

The general stagnation of games thanks to casuals is the false belief that graffix matters so much, so consoles are so desparately pushing 1080p over fluid screens. Video games aren't for you if you don't value gameplay above all. The rest help make a good game better, but muh shiny graffix will never save shit gameplay, when the opposite can happen.

Not that batman has bad gameplay, it's a very fun, stylistic game in how you get to play as batman to take out enemies with elaborate combos. But it would be much better to spend the time and effort improving the gameplay that exists (making it more challenging and complex for one) instead of 50GB of most likely graffix. City already looked good and wasn't this big, it's just polishing a doorknob at this point.

Visually though, and speaking to performance, that game had fucking problems. PhysX was a nightmare, AMD systems would get screwed out of some optimizations they made for NVIDIA, textures decided not to load when they were busy blowing the Joker, crazy visual artifacting during random moments, floors twitching in and out of existence. These are graphical and performance issues that hamper otherwise great gameplay. I'd like that shit fixed.

>Did he appeal to a large audience? Yes. >Did he make a ton of money for his label? Yes. Pretty successful endeavor. Doesn't regard him as "best" in anything other than personal opinion or in the minds of that label's top brass.
Of the previous games I mentioned, all 3 are successes in their own rights. Dark Souls is a success to FromSoftware, who'd previously struggled with Armored Core and related titles. Skyrim is a success for Bethesda, who made a fuckton of money from the game. Batman was a success for Rocksteady who had the unenviable task of making a good Batman game.
Objectively though, were the 3 companies in question to sit and ask, "From a public, monetary standpoint, who has the best game?" All parties would likely say their respective titles were the best.
Most successful, however, would go to Batman.

I think they said that the CPUs in consoles can't be arsed to uncompress sound while the game is playing. My only problem is that the USA has third world tier internet while filesizes grow and memory becomes cheaper.
