>>13015 Considering that the odds were against them, the developers didn't do that bad of a job with DX:HR. It's not the kind of sequel that will make you stand on your chair and applaud, but it does inject the spirit of DX into an otherwise generic stealth action game. It looks like DX:MD is even more generic, though, which does not bode well for the franchise.

I hope they step up their game this time Don't get me wrong, I liked HR but looking back at it I can really see how the atmosphere and OST were carrying the game more than the narrative (which is full of moments where Adam goes full retard, also bad characterisation) or the gameplay which relied too much on cover. As a storyfag I can swallow some meh gameplay (I fucking love The Witcher 1 and I'll be the first to admit its non talky / story related gameplay is average at best ) but they really need to think their plot through this time to avoid those horrible moments like Jensen following Barrett's lead like an idiot or doing whatever that Hive crime boss tells him to do.
Anonymous 04/12/15 (Sun) 18:07:19 f2f5fb No. 13204
I'll sound too suckered into trailer hype here but I really like the part like 2 minutes in where Adam says "so much pain". I don't know, the mix between the music crescendo, the look on that woman's face, the fire and smoke around her, the VA's emotion, it just comes together so well. But then again it's just the trailers and HR's trailer was pretty good too.
Anonymous 04/12/15 (Sun) 18:32:26 fce287 No. 13207
So what ending did everyone pick for Human Revolution? I'm guessing Mankind Divide will do what past games did and kinda put them all together. I chose the "Sarif ending" I don't think it's perfect but imo it's better than Darrow's skewered version of the truth that'll put humanity in the dark ages, or Taggert's "Let the Illuminati just control everything"
Anonymous 04/12/15 (Sun) 19:28:12 19cde0 No. 13212
>>13207 Taggart's ending is the worst. He wants to stifle human progress on account of religious and political beliefs. The life-saving properties of augmentation are irrelevant to him, and he glorifies neo-feudalism.
Darrow's ending is the most reasonable. It gives Jensen a way out while reminding humanity that this brave new world needs checks and balances. It's a safe and moderate stance that helps more than it hurts.
Sarif's ending is the most irresponsible. It opens the floodgates to augmentation without representation. With this ending, the same thing that happened to Jensen is likely to happen to others the world over.
Destroying Panchaea is the dumbest ending. It means that Jensen's struggle was completely in vain, and the Illuminati get to spin the story however they choose. What a waste.
Anonymous 04/12/15 (Sun) 19:49:20 432ffa No. 13217
>>13212 Truth be told they all felt lacklustre because of how augmentation was portrayed throughout the game.
Augmented people weren't "a better version of humanity", they were people with metal limbs that were drug dependant for the rest of their lives. The more you think about HR's plot the less sense it all makes.
Still a fun game, but I hope they're more coherent this time.

it is a shame because I never asked for an action game but more of an RPG and game that would raise questions, with a focus on interactions. Yet again, who cares, I know I do not represent the consumer they want to seduce. It is a shame because this just looks like a milking cow, looking to drain money with stupid "click-bait" plot. Seriously, stop this 'everything has changed, the rules are not the same' crap with a pseudo cheap 'epic' soundtrack that seems to be made to give a boner for a prepubescent child. Deus Ex HR had a nice preparation work, I HAVE to give them that : They met cripple people, they even made a documentary of it, goddammit. Here all we have is bang-bang = boum shit. Of course I know it will have infiltration, sure I know the game will be possible to finish without killing anybody, but it just looks like a waste. Sure thing, this is NOT a gameplay video, just a pre-work commission, but still traduce the spirit of the game to come, for future investors, trying to create a hype. It could have been a critic of mind-schemes, where you could have met NPCs, interact with them, push it way more further. I already know it won't be that. That's really sad when you know the topic was interesting and there was a lot to talk. It could have been a twisted mirror of today, a projection of the future, where you could join opinions of some people, disapprove others and more important : learn something. I know it won't be that, and there is only one thing that comes in my mind to describe it : wasted potential.
