Is this game good? I don't have a PS4, but I have played Infamous 1 (and will play 2 soon, replaying 1 first) and I like the game(s?), so I was wondering if they shat up the series or not.

If you liked Infamous, you'll like it. The controls flow a little better, but the bosses aren't as interesting.

It's a pretty game, and still one of the best super hero games around.

Not a bad game but underwhelming compared to the first two games.

Well, it's the kind of game that unironically used a Nirvana cover band in their marketing. Make of that what you will.

It's a game set in Seattle, somewhat as a celebration of Sucker Punch's hometown. It's not entirely inappropriate.

ce2664 No.12504

Dissappointing but worth getting if you already have a PS4.

Cool powers that unfortunately feel a little bit too same'y despite going balls out with the concept so it kind of contradicts itself.

The story is eh and game feels pretty barebones and rushed out way too early. In terms of gameplay mechanics its the best one yet. It's just a shame that they made the powers SEEM so different but they really aren't.

Yeah, it's a solid game but nothing special. Honestly I think I'm just over the franchise.

Didn't play any other games in the series but the first, and I war really put off by the first because it marketed itself as a super hero game but then played like a generic third person shooter with climbing.

This one definitely handles better, the powers are alright but not really that creative, the upgrade system is really only in place so you aren't full power from day one, it didn't feel meaningful but to initially limit you. Characters and writing are pretty average though I didn't beat it yet.

Overall alright if you want a open world game to screw around in, buy it discounted.

Also just because it still to this day pisses me off, the first games powers were literally just typical third person shooter shit
>grenades
>shotgun
>rocket launcher
>sniper rifle
and of course the generic assault rifle.
They had electricity as the power, they could have been so creative, but we got fucking guns.

I'd say it's a good game that's marred by how fucking short it is. Maybe I just didn't do enough side missions between the main ones, but it felt like every mission was a turning point with some odd moral choice put in at the end of it, which led to the pacing of the story seeming hobbled yet entirely too willing to jump ahead unannounced at times. Basically everything after Delsin's brother dies is a railroad to the final boss, who acts as an introduction to a power that never really feels fleshed out, like every other power in the game.

To me, the most interesting/unique aspects of the main set of powers were their means of transportation. Smoke had a quick dash, Neon had a fast after-image run, Video had some weird wings bullshit, and Stone somehow had another short dash that broke things instead of whiffing through them. Didn't get to try paper, mostly because I just didn't give enough of a fuck to jump through the website hoops to do so.

Overall it felt like it was missing something, which is why I was half expecting some DLC that would create the second half of the story. Instead we got a DLC prequel about how Neon Cunt is a bad person who should've died. At least her neon-only moveset was nice.

No, you're right. There are no true side missions - you've only got some side tasks you can do, but they're basically a checklist.

I plat trophied the game a few days ago - it really is short as fuck.

Part of me hopes that it sold well enough for Sucker Punch to really cook up a much longer sequel. I can understand Second Son being a peek at what the PS4 can do, even if it really isn't that flattering of a "tech demo" launch title. There's just so much more they can do with it, though. I also actually kind of like Delsin, even if he's just another liberal art major's dream self put into paper and voiced by Troy Baker. He felt pretty justified going either way when it comes to being Heroic or Infamous, as he seemed to have precedent for both. His character design seemed to pretty heavily lean toward Infamous from the start, though.

I quite enjoyed First Light's arena challenges and more arcadey feel. I hope they find a way to incorporate that into future games.

83dcd4 No.13295

It's pretty good albeit it doesn't live up to infamous 1 and 2.

What nearly killed it for me was the lack of enemy variety. Infamous 2 had monsters and a PMC that gave its troops ice powers. Second Son just had government thugs and the occasional gang member.

TOO STRICT

This, the bosses are pretty lame compare to the first two, I mean, in first Infamous, you have to fight a giant mechanical monsters, in 2, you have giant beetle ala spaceship troopers, in 3… you have drug lord and lame ass conduit.

Although I have to give props for the Infamous team for making such good side quest. Kinda repetitive but it doesn't feel boring… at least for me. That papertrails things also very interesting.

Other than playing one of the ugliest girls ever rendered on screen, this guy speaks the truth. Get First Light. It's cheap, stand alone content and better.
