What's in your opinion the most creative pokemon design and why?

Giritina, it has 6 legs that look like they come from an elephant, a weird long torso that is from something I've never seen before, winglike things that aren't even really wings at all. It doesn't even look like a dragon really.

Most pokemon were inspired by animals or natural objects, but Magnemite has a man-made look, and had a more or less unique way of evolving by combining.

Rotom It's a ghost that possesses mechanical/electrical devices. Mowtom is bestom.

Armaldo has a unique design to it, as a hybrid of Anomalocaris and dinosaurs like most Carnosauria. It looks like a dinosaur, but it doesn't. Tropius is a neat design, as you can compare the necks of sauropods to tree stems, so its design makes sense given its habitat. I don't know whose idea it was to slap some leaves on its back and make it a Flying-type, however; it just seems like an out-of-the-blue design choice.

>>12563 You're not alone; a good sum of people I've talked to about Pokémon thought the same thing. A few even thought that the red markings on its head were its eyes. What are they for, anyway?
On the topic of tacked-on features, some of the later designs suffer from this problem in order to fill out some of the blank spots of a design. Take Hydreigon; it doesn't need the red stripes on its belly and tail, but without them, the belly and tail aren't particularly eye-catching. I would point out the yellow star on Garchomp, but to me, it signifies the fact that it may have originally evolved from Sharpedo, which also has a yellow star on it.
I don't consider myself to be a genwunner. In my opinion, generations III and IV had the best games, new Pokémon, atmospheres, etc.. >>12587 Anon delivers!
I feel that most Pokémon's designs are based off of observations of an animal's appearance. Take Spoink; pigs have curly tails, and springs are curly, so why not have a Pokémon based off of this coincidence?
Speaking of Spoink, Grumpig is another Pokémon I like. If Spoink doesn't keep bouncing, it dies: therefore, it lives a hard life avoiding possible threats that may stop it bouncing. When it evolves, it doesn't need to keep bouncing anymore, which explains to me why Grumpig looks so smug (note the smug grin); it was able to evolve out of a hard life through dedication in training, so it feels like it's accomplished something to be proud of.
Due to Special Defense being Grumpig's highest stat, as well as Pokémon with high Special Attack having good Special Defense (Alakazam, Roserade, etc.), I feel the Special Defense stat is equal to a Pokémon's ego, in some cases. This works if you think that the Special Attack stat is equivalent to a Pokémon's intelligence, as a Pokémon may be proud of its intelligence, thus giving it high Special Defense.

Most ghost types have great design. As mentioned before, Giratina is a top-tier eldritch legendary. Cofagrigus is pretty cool too.

People want me to post again, so I will. I feel that Klink's design, along with its evolutions' designs, is creative, as it took advantage of the new animated sprites used in generation V. The fact that Klink was one of the earlier reveals was a clue to this new feature, as because Klink's design is based off of rotating gears, a static sprite would not do the design justice. This is why I disagree with the claim that Klink's design is unoriginal, though I do think it's gimmicky. Escavalier and Accelgor are creative concepts due to the implementation of coevolution, something not truly implemented before. (Slowpoke doesn't count as you don't need to make it interact with a Shellder. Mantyke doesn't count either, as Remoraid was originally to attach to Mantine, not make it evolve.) This resulted in a change from what their playstyles would be if they were somehow to evolve into different designs that didn't evolve coevolution.

I'm a big fan of the gen 6 pokémon in general, but these two are standouts for me. I think it's how they incorporate distinguishing features into what are already recognisable creatures to make something really distinctive.
