Can you run Wii games on the Wii U if both the from different regions? I know that both the Wii and the Wii U are region locked, but I don't know if this applies to the backwards compatibility of the Wii U and I sure couldn't find any information on google, so maybe one of you guys has an answer to this problem

The vWii is region locked too, yeah. But any USB loader can easily play other region games.

By default the vWii is in the same region as the WiiU. But it's patently easy to hack the thing (buy Brawl or the Lego Batman game)
and enjoy not only Wii games, but GCN games too - like F-Zero. I recommend trying to get the GC adapter from smash. I know it's hard to get it in burgerland, but it's well worth the shekels

>>12749 >But it's patently easy to hack the thing I've heard that hacking the vWii isn't as effective as hacking a regular Wii. Is it better to buy a cheap, second-hand Wii and hack that?

>>12758 There was one but not as much now. Wii has a built in GCN emulator. vWii requires you to download one like Nintendon't. Functionally the same after that. And like he said, get the adapter for smash and away you go.
My Wii U plays everything but 64 games, besides the virtual console ones.

>>12759 What's the process to turn your Wii U into such a capable emulation machine? Will it void the warranty to do so?
I'm unashamedly new to console modding/hacking and don't want to risk ruining it.
