/svidya/ is a strict /v/ alternative for moderated vidya discussion. This Board wasn't intended to replace /v/ but to aid Anon's in having vidya discussions with zero shitposters. Thanks for adding /svidya/ to /v/'s recommended boards, Mark.

I've been waiting like a weak to hear anything about this game. Is it any good? Is it just Metroid: The homage? does anybody actually know anything about this game, or have any of you actually heard of it?

The name rings a bell but I can't recall what it's about. I'm somewhat interested though based on that pic so I'll be monitoring this thread

It feels like he doesn't like video games at all in his reviews. He just groans through all of them.

That's partially just his style, his review of Pillars was pretty much giddy

I realize I'm incredibly late on this one, but if anyone is still lurking and is curious, I recently just got 100% on this game and loved every second.

It really is "Metroid: The Homage" but in the best way possible. It even does many things better than Metroid ever has.

There are a shit-ton of unique weapons, plenty of hidden/secret areas, tons of upgrades, a drone you can send into tight spaces and later teleport to, and the item layout/exploration is beautifully done.

Bosses are cleverly designed with "tricks" to beating them.

There's an actual plot and, despite some cheese dialogue, it's actually really good.

A couple downsides; it isn't very hard, not that Metroid ever really was, but don't expect much of a challenge. It's ugly as sin. Even thought the visual aesthetic is obviously a throwback, even Super Metroid looked better than this. The art style is fitting, but don't expect any of it to be easy on the eyes.

Also, some of the best chiptune music I've ever heard.

9/10, honestly. Great for any fan of Metroid.
