>>13631It's a polarizing game.
Out of the people who will play it, few will really "get" what the game is trying to do, and among those few not all of them are gonna enjoy what the game has to offer.
If I had to describe the game, I'd call it a love letter to cyberpunk and grimdark occultism wrapped in a traditional mix of WRPG elements that pays no mind to how accessible it is to your average gamer. If you like cyberpunk, you're gonna get a lot of the little references it sprinkles in, and the setting is going to at least feel familiar, even if a bit confusing.
The gameplay itself isn't too difficult, you just need to ask yourself how you want to play it. For example, if you want stealth, turn down the enemy respawns, eyesight, and sound detection, and buy augments like cyber-eyes and cyber-legs. If you want to Serious Sam the game and mow down waves and waves of enemies, turn the spawns up and grab yourself a minigun and an aim augment. Know too that the game lends itself more to, I guess I'd say, a simulation of its environment, in which not every option is gonna be 100% balanced, and some options are gonna be easier than others.
I say just jump into it with an open mind and make sure you're ready to read over the stats page and some of the background info at the terminal in the library if you wanna play it.
I've somehow put 100 hours into it and don't see myself stopping anytime soon.
