So I asked this question on /v/ but got no help. Is there a game that allows you to be a Paladin?

TOEE is my second favorite GOAT so I'll probably make a thread about it some time anyway once I start a new playthrough so I can make screenshots and webms to show it off.

For the love of god get the co8 modpack, nothing anyone says about TOEE is valid until you install the modpack.

Should I run throught the game in vanilla or get the modpack immediately?

Diablo 2 & Diablo 3 with Reaper of Souls
Neverwinter Nights 1 &2
Pillars of Eternity
If you build your character right, you can play as a Paladin in Oblivion or Skyrim.

Haven't played much but Inquisitor has a paladin class. Supposedly each of the three classes has a unique storyline.

There are two versions of the modpack

vanilla and nc

the vanilla modpack doesn't add the new content, it only fixes the game by removing massive amounts of bugs and making it a cleaner experience

the nc modpack is all of that plus new content which nearly triples the size of the game

The modders are dnd nerds and they made as much of it as they could be autistically lore friendly to the universe the game is in.

A bare minimum is the vanilla modpack.

I'd say get the nc version because it naturally separates the nc stuff to happen after the vanilla portion of the game.

Vanilla = levels 1-10/11
NC = levels 10-20

It's only $3 on GOG so I'll check it out. Thanks for the help.

GOG is only the base game. You'll need the modpack after.
This is the modpack info thread, I advise reading through it before installing (link in thread to download).

This is a game guide that has a lot of useful lesser known info to someone who hasn't played the game in depth.

For the love of god no. I installed the mod and the game is just massive bullshit. It starts with a swamp with toads that 2 shot you and you miss every single attack against them. Shit game.

Also if you took time to explore anything, you would realize you can do fedex quests in hommlett and welkwood bog to gain a level. A party of level 1's is much more susceptible to RNG death, but you have no fucking excuse for not being able to take out the toads if you have a balanced party of level 2's.

WoW paldins are hardly a paladin anymore. More like a rogue with a coat of sparkles.

Your attacks are too fast and spammy now, a paladin would be reserved and strong (big attacks, little procs, lots of control over when those big attacks happen. Holy power isn't control if you're just cycling through the paces of it). Fury warriors should have the fastest and most proc heavy attacks.

Support classes should have remained in the game and their support should have been made the most active. Instead of "show up, cast blessing, contribute shit dps", they should have learned from totem twisting how active support could work. Active buff roles with some healing (like how shadow priests operated) Paladins are defenders of the weak and crusaders of their faith. Be near a paladin, when he swings a billion pound hammer at the degenerates, you should feel empowered and a bit healed. Healing also is a lot less meaningful as a class flavor when even a warrior can just get mad and his wounds close.

Class quests could have filled the void of the rest of the paladin feeling too, the defending the faith and purging the scourge stuff, but Blizzard is too busy making store mounts and facebook games I guess.

also belves are shit paladins and every single one of them I've met has a attention slut behind it. Everyone asking for undead paladins should be tested for some degree of brain problems

Fire Emblem Paladins are pretty much Paladins in name only. They're not holy warriors, they're just dudes on horses.

58b9c1 No.16802

Ogre Battle series has lots of paladins as upgrades to the Knight class. Rogue Legacy does the same.

Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader. It gets shat upon by almost everyone but I enjoyed it, though I believe I installed what mods are available. Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, Icewindale, etc. all let you play as paladin. There's also Quest For Glory, though you have to be initiated into the class in the second or third game, I think. Best to start with the first one and keep importing your character into the sequels. Sacred 2 is an action RPG with a Seraphim class, which is similar.
