/svidya/ is a strict /v/ alternative for moderated vidya discussion. This Board wasn't intended to replace /v/ but to aid Anon's in having vidya discussions with zero shitposters. Thanks for adding /svidya/ to /v/'s recommended boards, Mark.

I've been playing a lot of Dustforce recently, so just the other day I was looking up some info on the studios next game, Spire.

That's when I found this; http://hitboxteam.com/designing-game-narrative

Now - this is a VERY long read, but trust me when I say that it's worth it. I feel that it really encompasses my feelings in regards to storytelling in games. I was actually thinking of writing an article pertaining my thoughts on the topic, but I have to concede that the work that Lee has done here is leaps and bounds above the capabilities of what I would've had to offer.

Thoughts on the piece? Pic semi-related.

Well that was a quick read.

Skimmed the rest of it and it was pretty spot on

You really ought to do more than skim. I was wondering how the team managed to nail "player-experiences" storytelling so well in Dustforce, and reading the whole article (as fuckhuge as it was) really made sense.

I think Hitbox team are a pretty good bunch of devs, even though Dustforce isn't my cup of tea(I play until the golden mansion levels and then I lose all steam) and I'm really looking forward to Spire.

As for the article I adore it. Nice find.
