If you donated to the Infinity Dev. Group over Flattr, it seems that they have turned into a scam and you should charge these conmen back immediately by contacting your financial institution. (I realize this includes my support key. I don't give a shit, flood their insecure bullshit report ticket in my name. I see no other way to prove it.) Reports are that they lost their PayPal account recently, and Flattr CEO and only employee @bonq is ignoring all communication from me via their ticket system and Twitter. The icing on the cake is that they blocked me and three others for asking where the fuck 46.74 EUR went.

Are there any genres that you wish you could play, but just fucking can't manage it? For me it's CRPGs. I just can't do it. They don't hold my attention, the controls turn me off, and the gameplay bores me to tears. But I feel like I'm really missing out by not playing them, so I keep trying to give them a shot and get nowhere. Right now I'm trying to play Fallout again, and I'm already losing interest after only reaching Shady Sands. I don't even know how I got through Baldur's Gate, but it wasn't an enjoyable ride I can say that much.

Picture unrelated because I don't have any related pictures.

Real time strategy. I love the idea of being a commander of troops that navigates an army through a skirmish against an enemy, but I just cant fucking do it.

So instead I play MoBAs instead.

Fighting games. I played Tekkan when I was young with my cousin, and soul caliber with a friend years ago. They seem neat but I can't see the point of them besides being mindless button mashers.

En tu?

The main reasons on why I didn't get into fighting games much is:

A.) The investment into a proper stick

B.) Fighting games are a very social activity..and I ain't got no friends.

C.) Fighting games fags are obnoxious.

This. I really wanna play RTS games but I'm fucking terrible with focusing on multiple things at once. I do one thing at a time, and even then I easily get sidetracked and focus wholly on something completely different for too long. Then I've got seven different things I started and only one I can manage at a time, and then I have the crushing realization that there are other players.

Every RTS I play ends like this. A focused, well developed player rolls up on me to find me trying to be a jack-of-all-trades instead of being good at one thing, and they just steam roll me. Every game.

>Fighting games fags are obnoxious.

That's half the fun

Starcraft and Pikmin I guess are the only RTS that have really clicked with me. For the most part I'm far to indecisive and perfectionist to be asked to make important numerical strategist decisions on the spot.

Adventure games. Their only gameplay is puzzles and puzzles make no fucking sense most of the time. Even if I can progress a little I get hopelessly stuck eventually and reading what do to or clicking shit randomly is not fun.

Which sucks because they look and feel great.

Most RPG's for me. I just don't like the combat in them which is what puts me off. I know you don't really play RPG's for the combat but if I find combat boring I get turned off.

Spooky games. If it's jump-scares: The Game I don't care and if it's slow 2spookd4u I get bored really fast. Also the fact that I don't find any sort of enjoyment in getting spooked, I don't get it.

It takes a lot of effort to get into RTS and get good at it.

d5fe07 No.16536

I want to like other RTSes like I liked Close Combat, but nothing really comes close. I'm always having to manually tell guys to throw grenades.

I want to like adventure games and interactive fiction, but I'm never on the same wavelength as the puzzles.

I want puzzles in my adventure games, but only if thats one of their selling points. And I mean HARD puzzles.

339a32 No.16560

I'm too dumb for puzzle games… I always get stuck in graphic/text advfentures and resort to walkthroughs, or drop the game altogether since I feel retarded.

Hey, if you just wanna make a comfy castle and feed your people, Stronghold and Stronghold crusade are good games.

>>16513

Have you tried Age of Empires yet? Quite simple machanics and, if my memory is correct, it had good tutorial. Many RTS and strategies in general are bitches to start, because tutorial sucks ass, so maybe there is your problem.

972a95 No.16594

Seconding CRPGs, and to some extent, WRPGs in general. JRPGs are my favorite genre, but the more open, less story-driven nature of Western RPGs just doesn't engage me as much. I like the level of customization they offer, but their worlds never really draw me in.

I'd also say MOBAs since I don't like them, but I don't really want to like them either.

>>16594

If you want a less sandboxy, linear WRPG I'd recommend Icewind Dale 1 and 2.

242abd No.16611

I wish I could properly play rush-based RTS games. But if the game isn't set up to have natural 20-minute setups and long games, I just can't.

>>16528

I wish the puzzles were less "stick the rat into the drainpipe and throw the drainpipe into the old lady's head on the fifth flap of that sign" and more logical. Most adventure games have me going "man, how the fuck was I supposed to intuit that" rather than "man, how did it take me so long to figure that out, I'm an idiot."

You actually puller the words right out of my mouth anon. I want to get into RTS's but I just can't, I don't even like CIV.

Have you tried LotR: Battle for Middle-Earth 2? The campaign in itself is a lot of fun, the Witch-King expansion even moreso.
