I just got both of these games so i thought we could have a thread about those two games.

I tried The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director's Cut and noticed lagging, is there anything i can do to make it less bad or remove it?

Besides that it look like it will be good and fun.

There isn't really anything you can do. Its running on heavily modified version of Bioware's already janky as hell Aurora engine, utilized in a way that the engine was never really intended to be used at all. Witcher 1 is really rough, but it is a great time if you can muscle through it. The second game is a lot more polished.

Alright, any tips for someone new to the game?

Mainly, don't give up at the swamp part, the game gets much better right after that.

Chapter 2 was one of my favorite chapters. I felt like a real detective.

I really should have killed Loredo, but damn I have a weakness for Elven whores.

Turn down some settings?

What are your specs?

I can't confirm this because I only played part of it on my toaster: Higher settings on good rigs, for some reason, cause the game to lag. Try putting some settings down, it should help it.

I don't know. I felt like chapter 2 and 3 had tremendous pacing issues. I just hated running around that shithole of a city. It was a struggle to keep myself invested in those two chapters. I enjoyed 1 and 4 much more.

Get the FCR mod, makes fights a lot more deadly but reduces the amount of enemies. Makes levels like the swamp not jut not bad but actually fun

Following advice is for FCR:

First thing you should do is invest in Strong Steel

Don't invest in group styles, they're useless as everything in FCR has way higher DR

Herbalism is really important, reading books is important. Spend money on books, it's worth it.

Experiment with the alchemy system (you can become ridiculously OP if you know how to min max with potions)

Dexterity is important since everything hits for damage that you really feel

Igni is best sign, Yrden is also very good since it can stun monsters and does % of HP damage. Don't bother with Quen & Heliotrope.

I wish someone had told me that, I uninstalled it at the swamp part and now I can't get back into it.
